Thought this was a great primer for all of us who truely believe and use the power of social media.

In the Internet age, David can go on Facebook to help him bring down Goliath.
That's what happened in Morrisville, Vermont, where the tiny Rock Art Brewery, maker of Vermonster beer, marshaled a wave of public opinion to help in a lawsuit against Hansen Beverage, which sued for copyright infringement on their Monster Energy Drink.

Hello, all.
I'm researching a story about SMBMSP and how frackin' big this fine local event has become since its humble beginnings.
I need your help. Please share your SMBMSP thoughts with me. I'm particularly keen on gleaning the following from y'all:
1) How has SMBMSP added solid value for you? Looking for concrete examples of something you took away from one of these gatherings that made a real difference to you in your workplace, profession, or in any other social-media context.
2) How i… Continue

We talk about personal branding,… Continue
Yep, you heard right, this is the inaugural SMBMSP podcast. We'll be working on the format and content for the next event, but this first one was as much to see how it'd work as it was for fun.
Many, many thanks to Brad Bellaver for his patience and diligence in creating this podcast. He's a true pro.

I'm just blown away by that number. I know there are several folks that can't make it to every breakfast, and some that have joined and forgotten about us. However, I really have to thank all the great folks that truly make up SMB here in the Twin Cities - you're what makes each event really worth going to.
It's your interest, questions, ideas, and passion that drive our social media community to be one of the best in the country. There are many challenges facing each of us and our neighbors ri… Continue
Check out the cool, new video from @dmscott to promote his upcoming book, "World Wide Rave." (In case you weren't there David spoke at SMBmsp #8 on October 31, 2008.)
Our group is featured in the first of many video clips shot worldwide, which David and his team spliced together for this video. We're about 25 seconds in! Here's a frame:

Hi folks, Rick Mahn here. I wanted to share some news about SMB and hopefully gather some thoughts and ideas about 2009 from you.
I'm working with SMB founder Bryan Person in Austin on the national level for SMB. Great things are going to happen in 2009 for SMB, and I plan on bringing the best of them to everyone here in MSP. Since our event is the second oldest consecutive SMB, and also one of the largest, it's fun to help bring your voice to the national stage to advance our ideas of what the… Continue
I thought SMBMSP was really exceptional this morning. It was cool to listen to David Meerman Scott. (Thanks also to Graeme Thickins.) The local guests were equally intriguing.
The work happening at Fallon is extremely interesting to me. And, to think about the "Deluxe =checks" stigma that Partner Up is working to overcome is impressive.
Cheers.

I wanted to post a quick note thanking everyone for participating in our second SMB event. I'm working on getting the pictures, video, Twitter address list and recap. You'll see them go up over the rest of the day.
Personally I had a great time meeting more of the Minneapolis & St. Paul group of social media crew. We may not think about it often, but I believe Albert Maruggi is spot-on. There is a great group knowledgeable, helpful social media people here, comparable to many other places a… Continue

The next SMB here in the Twin Cities is scheduled for next Friday in Roseville! We're going to try out the conference facilities at the Caribou Coffee on Snelling there - just south of Hwy 36. You can find the Upcoming event here (http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/467223).
The room is bit smaller than last time, but is a full conference room with working WiFi, better seating arrangement, whiteboard, and darn good coffee. Hope to see you there!… Continue
Hello folks! Rick here to let you know that we're launching our own social network for the social media breakfast here in our hometown. Join me (and everyone!) here to generate ideas and suggestions for topics, locations, speakers, and other items of interest for future breakfasts.
We'll also upload photos, videos, and any other content to go along with each breakfast. The forums are open as well, so feel free to ask/answer questions and leave feedback! I'd like to build a page to list everyone… Continue
